I have been creating art ever since I was a child. I remember birthday and Christmas gifts of paints, brushes, and sketchbooks, which ignited a flickering light in my little budding artist soul.
On this website you will find a collection of my paintings, both original artwork and prints. I mostly paint scenes from the Canadian Prairies, a place dear to me, and where I was born and raised.

Life on the Prairies Has Always Captivated Me.
I love prairie landscapes and nature, and strive to capture the beauty I see in the more quiet and tranquil scenes. A flower nestled in a roadside ditch catching the waning prairie light, or a gentle duck gliding slightly across an emerald pond. The beauty in these serene moments rival majestic mountain or seascape paintings in my eyes.
I have always painted realistically, but I’m also drawn to the colour and light of the impressionists, and in recent years have pushed myself to paint in a more fluid style with the boulder brush strokes.
With each painting I continue to grow and develop my craft. It is my hope to continue this amazing journey as an artist, and keep alive that little light that was ignited all those years ago.

About Me
My name is Heather Robbins and I’m an author and artist living in central Canada.
I love prairie landscapes and nature, and strive to capture the beauty I see in the more quiet and tranquil scenes. A flower nestled in a roadside ditch catching the waning prairie light, or a gentle duck gliding slightly across an emerald pond. The beauty in these serene moments rival majestic mountain or seascape paintings in my eyes.
I am completely self-taught; developing my talent and style by watching other artists and pouring over books of the great masters. Like a lot of artists, I had to put my painting on the back burner while I focused on raising a family and working outside the home to keep the wolf from the door. However, despite these life circumstances, I continued to paint and draw in my spare time, entering art shows and joining art clubs whenever possible.
